Florida ranks
as the country's most famous - or most notorious - state depending
upon who and when. Thousands of residents of America's northeast make an
annual pilgrimage to enjoy Florida's milder winters. But, then, Floridians
migrate to the more northern climates (especially Western North Carolina)
to escape the Florida hot and humid summers.
Interstate 95 has replaced US-1 and US-17 as the main migration
thoroughfares. It is primarily level and offers many excellent hotels and
restaurants. There are even interesting places to 'stop and smell the
roses' - e.g., St Augustine, Savannah, Charleston. Richmond, Washington,
Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City and Boston. These, of course, are
just a few but you do get the drift. |
